The 1747-L524 processor offers an enhanced instruction set, increased diagnostic capabilities, and expanded communication capabilities beyond the SLC 5/01 processors and fixed controllers. It supports PID closed-loop process control, indexed addressing, interrupt capability, user fault routines, and 32-bit signed math functions.
